RSQ – A New Chapter

After more than a quarter-century of making music together, the Royal String Quartet embarks on the next stage of its activity. The change in the ensemble’s line-up has become an impulse for the evolution of its artistic idiom – bringing fresh energy and inspiration, opening space for further musical explorations and creative encounters, while preserving what has accompanied RSQ from the very beginning: artistic courage, the highest performance quality and the joy of creating together.

Over the years the ensemble has shaped its own vision of the string quartet – combining tradition with the contemporary, co-creating the most important events on the Polish and international chamber-music scene, and building close relationships with composers for whom it has performed and premiered dedicated works.

Today RSQ explores uncharted repertoire areas even more boldly, initiates successive compositional commissions and creates projects that respond to the challenges of the present day.
